Leading the way in EOD X-ray technology
For over three decades, Teledyne ICM has been a trusted name in the manufacture of X-Ray equipment for Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams worldwide. The evolution of technology has significantly enhanced the quality of X-Ray imaging, enabling the detection of previously unseen threats. With advancements such as higher image definitions, precise filtering tools, and a small focal spot in the X-Ray generator, even the minutest details can now be visible.
Ensuring usable images with robust filters
One critical concern for operators is the need to avoid returning to a potential explosive device due to poor image quality. In response to this, Teledyne ICM has developed robust filters that ensure usable images even when initial snapshots are suboptimal. Here are a few examples:
- Teledyne Filter
- Histogram adjustment
- ROI Filter
- And more…
Combining multiple snapshots with a stitching tool
In certain scenarios, the package requiring inspection exceeds the size of the detector, necessitating multiple images. This can complicate the inspection, identification, and decision-making processes when dealing with separate images. To facilitate the reading, Teledyne ICM designed a stitching tool that combines multiple snapshots into a single cohesive image.
Importance of zooming and magnification
Zooming and magnification are crucial for identifying and understanding explosive devices. To achieve magnification, the operator must position the detector at a specific distance from the package. A key factor in this process is the X-Ray source’s focal spot; a smaller focal spot is essential for producing clear, readable images. The Teledyne ICM battery-operated generators, including models CP120B, CP160B, and LITEX, provide an ideal solution.
Rapid assessment with C-View live video X-ray imaging system
Time is also a critical factor for EOD operators, who must secure areas swiftly to ensure public safety. Teledyne has prioritized this need in its product designs, aiming to quickly determine whether a package poses a threat. Consequently, Teledyne ICM innovative team introduced the C-View, a Live Video X-ray imaging system that enables rapid assessment of packages within seconds. Being operational in under 90 seconds, this solution is ideal for time -sensitive operations.
